Channel Crossings Press was founded by Fred Gamble in 1989. His influence can be felt in every detail of the charts produced by CCP; from the detailed topography and coastal waterways to the lively drawings of the wildlife inhabiting the Santa Barbara Channel Islands. CCP nautical charts are based upon National Ocean Service charts as corrected by the USCG Local Notices to Mariners. They are tailored, however, for use by small boat skippers. Charts come in two sizes and are available varnished or laminated. Laminated charts are intended for use offshore in vessels where they will be exposed to the weather. Our smaller, 12" x 18," laminated charts are enclosed in 10-mil laminate and may be used in the cockpit. A set-of-four makes handsome placemats for dinner in the anchorage or at home when you wish you were in the anchorage. Our larger charts are suitable for framing or use on vessels with adequate space to unroll a 24" x 36" document. They are available varnished or sealed in 3 mil laminate. All charts are printed in full color using a six-color offset lithographic press. Our chart paper is heavy coated cover stock, the finest available. The result of careful design, fine printing, and excellent paper is an outstanding chart and a true work of art. This unusual combination of aesthetics and cartography will make your passage safer and more enjoyable and your den or dining table more attractive. Our up-to-date nautical charts are intended for navigation, but are suitable for framing or hanging as a poster. You can purchase our charts online by going to our Shop Page.
